Well that was an exciting couple of weeks. On Monday, after a good few days of buffing, we finally nudged Ernest out of the door and straight into the inky clutches of the Heidelberg Speedmaster litho press at Bristol’s oldest printers, Taylor Brothers Ltd. We made a wee video of the process as we press passed the pages. I can tell you, after six months of hard work, there’s nothing more heartening than the clunky mechanical sound of paper being picked up and pressed through rolls of cyan, magenta, yellow and black. You’ll have to imagine the smell of ink on warm paper. Well, until issue one lands on your doorstep in a couple of weeks’ time.
Print deadline was made even more exhilarating by the fact that we walloped our Kickstarter target just as we sent our final proofs. We’ve got eight days to go on the campaign so please get involved - the bread bags and Bergen rucksacks have sold out, but there are still some sea monsters awaiting a good home and a chance to sup wild cocktails in the woods with the Ernest team. Plus, you can pre-order issue one for £10 and save yourself a few quid on postage.
Thanks again for all your support so far - and we look forward to meeting you at our launch party or at one of our events over the summer (more details on these shortly!).
