Captain Scott's Terra Nova Hut print
Limited edition print of Captain Scott's Terra Nova hut in Antarctica, illustrated by Ben Langworthy as part of his 'Shelter' series.
In issue 6 of Ernest Journal, author Dan Richards examined the allure of basic structures – cabins, bunkers and bivouacs – at the end of the world, to understand our relationship with isolation, wilderness and creativity. Artist Ben Langworthy crafted an extraordinary series of illustrations to accompany the feature, including Scott's Antarctic hut, Jack Kerouac's lookout and Roger Deakin's shepherd hut.
"No man should go through life without once experiencing healthy, even bored solitude in the wilderness, finding himself depending solely on himself and thereby learning his true and hidden strength."
Jack Kerouac, Lonesome Traveller
Ben Langworthy is inspired by a range of mid-century influences and the outdoors. He has worked for Caught By The River, The Good Life Experience, Dashel Cycle Helmets and Pedlars.
