Made In These Isles
Tell us a bit about Made In These Isles.
Our aim is to source and showcase the finest products that have been designed, crafted and manufactured in the British Isles. We support both old and new brands, the established and the unknown. Our key focus when choosing products for the site is great design, quality of materials, trusted production techniques and like minded people – these all help to shape the selection process.
Give us a taster of the things you sell. Any favourites?
We have a wide variety of products on the site ranging from pocket squares to skateboards! We love Walsh trainers – they are currently the only wholly British owned, designed and manufactured sports footwear brand and have been in continuous manufacture in Bolton since 1961. We're also really pleased to be showcasing the Roadster from Vickers Bicycle Company. They’re a boutique British bicycle brand that are hand-making an exclusive range of lightweight, steel-framed, city bikes in Great Britain.
What's important to you?
Design and ethos. We’re not only interested in products that are made exclusively in the UK and Ireland, we’re also very keen to only showcase brands that really care about the design, the attention to detail and manufacturing processes, who make sure no shortcuts are taken in production and only the best of materials are used.
What inspires you?
Expertise! We've always been inspired by experts of any technique or skill – it doesn’t matter if they’re an expert carpenter, expert seamstress – people who really know what they're doing and who really care about their craft.
Anything else you want to tell us?
We’re always on the lookout for new talent so if you’re designing and making products in the British Isles and want somewhere to showcase your products, get in touch!
